Silverwood's Senior Program is comprised of students in grades five and six who, in our Montessori-inspired tradition, are encouraged to work to their full potential, often in experiential settings, collaborate with students in other grades, be adventurous in their studies, and apply their learning to in-depth projects, both independently and in small groups. The students are expected to exhibit a generosity of spirit and work within a code of values they have summarized as "Respect each other and the environment."
The Senior faculty integrates the curriculum so students make connections among all subjects.
Lead teacher, Cameron Peters teaching Science, Mathematics and PE , takes advantage of the school's science "labs"--two greenhouses, a pond, a stream, and acres of woods.

Character Development & Citizenship.

Helen Kirkham is the school's artist who encourages hands-on inquiry with clay, paints, and other media in the Grotto. She also teaches Geography and Computer Literacy and Graphics where students use technology as a tool to further their learning.
