The studio art program at Silverwood is a fundamental part of the learning experience of the students attending the six year program. The ever changing art curriculum has been creatively crafted over the last two decades by one of the original staff members. In the Grotto students create original art projects that reinforce core curriculum and builds self esteem. The principles and elements of design are taught as students experience the process while they manipulate the different art mediums. Art appreciation is a key factor in the studio, art and artists are studied and used as references regularly in lessons. Independent and group project in a creative environment encourage students to be self directed, inspired and motivated life-long learners.
