Studio Art in the Grotto

The studio art program is a fundamental part of the learning experience of students attending all six years at Silverwood. The ever evolving art curriculum has been creatively crafted over the last two decades by one of the original staff members.

Art nurtures the curiosity and creativity of students

In the Grotto, students create original art pieces that reinforce the core curriculum while building self esteem. The principles and elements of design are taught and students experience the artistic by manipulating the different art mediums. Art appreciation is a key factor in the studio, and artists and their creative works are studied as references regularly in lessons. Independent and group projects, in a creative environment encourage students to be self directed, inspired and motivated, life-long learners.
