Paige Iversen Curley was one of Silverwood’s first students. She
sent us the following update.
My educational journey began when I attended the Farm Montessori
preschool followed by Silverwood School through the 5th grade. I credit
Silverwood for providing me with a strong academic foundation and an immense
passion for learning. As a student, I was encouraged to explore, question, and
seek learning. The teachers involved me in my education versus having me be a
spectator. The skills I gained from Silverwood definitely contributed to my
successful educational career.
My favorite Silverwood School memory was our
road/camping trip around Washington state for a week. Each student got to
select a county to research and was then responsible for planning all of the
educational activities for that section of the trip. It was quite the
adventure!
After leaving Silverwood (Pre-K thru 5th), I spent one year at
Brownsville Elementary School in our neighborhood. Then I attended Ridgetop
Junior High and Olympic High School where I graduated in the class of 1997. I
pursued the Trojan Scholar Award and received recognition for academic success.
I played volleyball in high school. I decided to attend Pepperdine University
in Malibu, California where I pursued a BS degree in Nutritional Sciences,
graduating cum laude in 2001. After college, I applied for and was accepted
into a one year paid internship at the UCLA -VA Hospital where I received my
Registered Dietitian license.
I married my husband Jerod in 2004 and he graciously moved us back to Seattle in 2007 to be near family. Now I enjoy traveling, cooking, working out, walking my pug, and chasing after my one year old daughter, Reese. I am currently working part time as a Special Markets Senior Consultant for Novartis pharmaceuticals. My responsibilities include working with large integrated health systems to develp partnerships on key health initiatives and educating medical providers on our cardiovascular treatment options.
