Erik Henne graduated from
Silverwood in 1995, then attended Central
Kitsap Junior High, Central Kitsap High
School (he was Class of 2001 Salutatorian and a state swimmer) and the Honors Program at University
of Washington. Erik graduated with a BS in mechanical engineering in June 2006 and was immediately
employed at Uptake Medical Corporation in Seattle. (read more)

Ruthie Hawley, Silverwood Class of 2005, is now a junior at Klahowya Secondary School where she has helped launch an
Environmental Awareness Club, Food for Thought. Food for Thought is sponsoring
a fun run/walk on Saturday, October 31, at Klahowya Secondary School. Sign in is at 9:15 and the race starts at 10:00 a.m. No fee
is required, but donations are encouraged and all proceeds go to the World
Wildlife Foundation. Kiddie dashes, fun games, and a
live performance by student/singer Peter Lockwood will provide fun for the
whole family. Join Ruthie on Saturday and show your support of her work on

Ryan McIntyre, Silverwood Class of 2008, plays soccer
internationally! Last summer, he played in Holland on the U.S. team at the
International Friendship Games. Next summer, Ryan will play soccer in Vienna as
part of his participation in the People to People Program.
People to People is an ambassador
program that provides educational travel experiences for student athletes. The
mission of this program is to “bridge cultural and political borders through
education and exchange, making the world a better place for future
generations.”

Ashley Bean Wilson graduated from Silverwood in 1996, then
attended Ridgetop Junior High and graduated from Olympic High School in 2002.
While at Ridgetop and Olympic, she was active in Drama Club, Swim Team, Track,
Knowledge Bowl, Choir and Jazz Choir. After making full use of the Advanced
Placement curriculum in high school, Ashley attended Brigham Young University
– Idaho on a full scholarship, and earned her first degree in 2004. She
was then accepted to the University of Washington Pharmacy program where she
became a Doctor of Pharmacy in 2008. (read more)

Topper (Christopher) Kain graduated from Silverwood in 1996,
then attended Fairview Junior High and Olympic High School where he was
involved in football, wrestling and track, Ski Club, Odyssey of the Mind,
Junior Engineering and Technical Society, Honor Society, the student newspaper,

Paige Iversen Curley was one of Silverwood’s first students.
My educational journey began when I attended the Farm Montessori
preschool followed by Silverwood School through the 5th grade. I credit
Silverwood for providing me with a strong academic foundation and an immense
passion for learning. As a student, I was encouraged to explore, question, and
seek learning. The teachers involved me in my education versus having me be a

Hello, my name is Lydia
Gordon and I was among of the very first students to attend Silverwood School
all six years. I was going to
Clear Creek Montessori, then an extension of the Farm Montessori Preschool,
when a few of the teachers branched off and started Silverwood School on Dickey
Road in 1988. I remember that we
were all asked to come up with ideas for a school name and Silverwood was

Stephanie Punt graduated from Silverwood in 2000 before attending Central Kitsap Junior High, Central Kitsap High School, and the UW. Her favorite Silverwood memories include her senior trip to the Olympic Park Institute, “surrounded by old western hemlocks and western red cedars.” Stephanie’s experience at OPI showed her “how important the interactions among various species in an environment are.” (read more) |

Confidence. This is the emotion I felt as I stood in front of the entire school and their families waiting to recite a poem in the third grade. The ability to have confidence when speaking in front of crowds was only one of the gifts that Silverwood gave me. (read more) |

Silverwood alum Andrew Hughes is running for Congress! Andrew graduated from Silverwood in 1998 and says, “Silverwood was the foundation of everything – my love of knowledge, sense of community, desire to be involved, and my love of learning which I have applied to everything in my life.” (read more)
