“In essence, science is a perpetual search for an intelligent and integrated comprehension of the world we live in.”

– C.B. Van Neil, Microbiologist

We live in a society that is increasingly reliant upon science and technology. Without a solid foundation in both math and science, students will not be prepared to thrive in an environment that requires proficiency in both.

In addition, thinking like a mathematician or scientist allows students to truly appreciate how wonderfully diverse and complex our environment is. Seeing the connectedness between organisms and the underlying mathematics of nature provides students with a new perspective to view the world. With greater appreciation and respect comes a renewed desire to be a steward.
